Shuttle - Artifacts

Description
Single piece, light colored wood shuttle with inserted spool of pink thread on bamboo rod. A: The shuttle is long with narrow ends widening toward an ovoid central opening which holds the thread spool. One side of the shuttle is flat so that while resting flat on a surface, the opening for the spool is on the top. This "top-side" is carved so that the opening is flanked by two arms whose sides extend up toward a raised, central edge. The compartment for the spool has been carved out into a rectangular shape with rounded corners. There is a hole through which the thread extends. A notch and small hole on the central axis of the ovoid allow the spool to be inserted into the shuttle. B: The spool is a narrow rod of cut bamboo. L: 4". Through the bamboo tube a metal wire ressembling an opened paperclip has been inserted to hold the spool into place. Around the spool is wound quite a bit of bright pink thread.
