Outfit - Artifacts

Description
Woman's Chinese jacket and panel skirt, stitched by hand, made of fine cotton dyed with indigo and polished. A: Mandarin style collar, diagonal front opening (right side), 3/4 length, center seams in front and back, sleeves cut in one, narrow blue bias edging on front edge and sleeve opening, base of collar has narrow black bias tape, two sets of black "frogs" at collar and two sets at diagonal opening and three sets at the side. Slit at side has bias facing. Unlined. B: Panel Skirt. Plain muslin waist band attached to indigo dyed wrap skirt. In front is a straight panel trimmed with black bias tape, narrow pleats on side panels are tacked with thread horizontally at the top, middle and bottom, bias black edging on outside hem. Two white cotton loops attached to the wide waistband have two woven cotton cords tied to them.
