Hat - Artifacts

Description
Child's hat. Navy blue fabric with baby blue, yellow, red, and turqouise embroidery. Large red pom poms on top and sides. Six metal beads attatched. Plastic seed-bead string chin strap attached. Paper note sewn to the interior says: "Southeast Asian Design is a cooperative of artisans from the mountains of Laos. The Mien are famed for thier intricate and varied embroidery. The Hmong, masters of applique, demonstrate the hilltribes love of color, motion, and optical illusion. Many local families earn vital income and preserve cultural ties through the sale of these traditional handcrafts. Handcrafted by Nai Saeng. Design: Girl's baby hat w/playing kitten."
