Suitcase - Artifacts

Description
Suitcase, red-brown leather. Leather handle on top of suitcase. Two leather straps with buckles on ends to the left and right sides of suitcase. Three locking metal closures on the left, center, and right of top of suitcase. Keys accompany closures. Attached to right buckle is a luggage identification tag printed, unless otherwise noted: "- FROM - BEN'S // Transfer and Storage Co. // Baker, Oregon // George Lee [in pencil] // Lot No. // Piece No. 18 [18 in pencil]". Two stickers attached to center of front lid, partially ripped off: (1) rectangular sticker, black characters [illegible] on red background (2) oval sticker, red, yellow and black. Image of a steam ship with part of the word "CANADIAN" legible. Below are the words "NAME", "SS" and "ROOM" printed in black ink with Chinese characters written in after each word. Appears to be an luggage identification tag for traveling by ship. Interior lined with seafoam green satin fabric with two thin leather straps on interior of lid. Interior fabric stained and discolored near edges. Small pocket on interior lid, 11 x 6 in. Belonged to George and Lonnie Lee.
