Commemorates the part of the Free Speech Movement at the University of California Berkeley campus and San Francisco State campus in which students of colors lobbied for the creation of an ethnic studies department. Asian American Studies was formally instituted at both campuses following the longest student strike in U.S. history led by the Black Student Union and Third World Liberation Front at State and the Third World Liberation Front at Berkeley.
