Description
French Indochinese coin for use as a Hmong/Mien belt buckle on a jacket Heavy silver coin with grooved edges, on one side imprinted in French "Indo-Chine Francaise . Titre 0.900 Poids 27 GR" around the outside and "Piastre de Commerce" in the middle surrounded by a wreath with a bow at the bottom; on the other side in French "Republique Francaise, 1909" around the outside with the female figure of Liberty dressed in a robe sitting with he arm resting on a desk, wearing a star shaped headdress and holding an obelisk on her knee, on the left appear to be sheaves of wheat and on the right an anchor. Information from donor states that this is 92.5% silver.
