Doll - Artifacts

Description
Gosho Boy Doll kneeling and writing calligraphy on a platform Round head dipped in gofun, left arm dipped in gofun supporting his body and holding a brush in right hand. Painted bluish black eyebrows, red painted puckered lips, narrow inlaid eyes with black pupils and outline. Black fiber hair with a chomage topknot tied with brown paper string, two side hair pieces are tied with brown paper string in front of his ears. Faded blue vest made of silk pressed into the wood body, painted pink, blue and white flowers with green leaves with gold veins and white outline, white wave design (daisy type flowers, water lily leaves), vest tie in front, under vest is a bib in gold toned brocade and silver in a water lily and chrysanthemum motif. Holds a brush in the right hand (a stick with black tip upside down). Kiri wood base is covered on top with rectangles of red and gray speckled papers. In front of the doll is a cloud motif white and blue writing paper. Tsuzuri ink stone is glued to the base on the doll's right side. Finish is chipped off right thumb, cracks in head at crown and back and gofun is chipped on left forehead.
