Doll - Artifacts

Description
Standing female doll with left foot forward holding right arm forward at chest height, left elbow bent, left arm at waist. Long black silk fiber hair is tied in the back with folded paper band below the shoulders. Gofun (crushed oyster shell) dipped wood-paste head. Upper eye lids and irises and are painted black, gray smudges on forehead and gray eyebrows, closed red painted lips, long nose. Head is attached to body. Clothing consists of brocade robe with olive green background with a cloud design in blue, yellow and plum; the belt ends are visible at the front, 3-layered with orange crepe at the bottom; blue brocade in between the top and bottom, top layer is navy blue brocade with gold floral circular design, 2 finges in yellow thread hang at the bottom. Hem ends around her knees, front and back panel. Green sleeve lining, beige undergarments visible as collars. Underkimono visible at sleeves. Under the outer garment is a mustard colored crepe short kimono with orange colored silk crepe "Hari-bakama". Kimono sleeves are lined with orange crepe. Hari-bakama trails beyond her feet in back. Stands on unfinished Kiri wood base.
