Drum - Artifacts

Description
Musical instrument used to accompany the Hula dance. Made of a dried squash which is open on the top and hollow. The color is yellowy-beige with some red dye stain discolorations. A 7" long rope is tied through a hole in the neck. The initals K L are written on the edge and interior. The instrument is held with the rope around the wrist and beaten with the other hand. It is called an Ipo in Hawaiian.
