Handkerchief - Artifacts

Description
Square white cotton or bast fiber handkerchief with drawn work linear designs and pulled work floral designs. Overall pattern is symmetrical, consisting of a single flower (pulled work) in each corner surrounded by embroidered stem and small leaves and larger drawn work leaves. Each side is decorated with a linear design which starts as a meander near the top of the corner flowers and terminates in two stacked squares at the next corner. Each corner is also decorated with five short parallel drawn work lines. Small rust colored stains are located throughout the handkerchief.
