Kimono (Yukata) - Artifacts

Description
Man's Yukata Indigo dyed cotton with resist dyed white squares which have concave sides and are filled with faded gold grid-like design. The curved sides of the squares created an optical design of connected diagonal rows of dark blue circles. Medium length sleeves with opening at side nearest body and at wrist. Straight wide collar extends half way down the front and can be folded in half lengthwise; and is reinforced with an additional layer around. Collar is lined with white cotton and edges are basted with white thread. Coarse woven cotton square patch stitched with black thread at inside lower back; and white cotton lining inside front and back yokes. Some small rusty stains on back patch.
