Kimono (Nagajuban) - Artifacts

Description
Men's Nagajuban Under Kimono The body of the garment is made of coarsely woven white cotton. The short square sleeves are made of silk crepe which is dyed gray graduating from light gray near the body to dark gray at the hem. Above the hem is white circular resist dyed border. The row of disks have been created by stitching white silk into radiating pletes and dying it gray. There is a fancy hem finish. This three quarter length robe has a straight white collar that extends to the bottom and the upper half is covered with a gray silk over collar. Gament has been hand stitched and there are basting along the lower sleeves.
