MAROON SILK DAMASK DRAWSTING PURSE two orange silk tassles for each end of drawstring. heads of tassles wrapped in blue silk thread in the form of a good luck symbol. knots bind tassles together. drawstring same orange color as tassles. purse of maroon silk dam- ask with patterns of flowers. On front a lotus shape is embroidered in pink. pale turquoise leaves on the outside of the shape alternate between its petals Inside lotus shape is the double luck/joy character in dark blue. characters are edged in gold thread. along the edge of the purse, below the symbol is a key pattern in couched gold thread. also in gold is the character "Lu" mean- ing riches. embroidered cloud shapes spot the rest of the purse. pale blue piping lines the purse around the opening and around the base to give it depth. there are worn spots in several places.
