Description
KOREAN CLOTH DOLL A: doll on stand wearing traditional Korean dress(Hanbok). hair pulled back into a braid and looped around gold cloth wrapped pin (Pina) and tied with red cloth strip. black silk hair with applied white string part. pearl bead earrings held in place by pins. molded face covered by cream silk. same material covers hands. face painted with grey brows, black eyes and pink mouth. body stuffed and attatched to blue wooden base. satin silk jacket (chokori) is yellow around chest. stiff red and white collar meets with red sash/bow which overlaps left over right. sleeves are striped. first bluish/ purple, than fuschia, green, yellow, white, bluish/purple agian, and fuschia around wrists. has a spattering of embroidered flowers. skirt(tchima)is pur- ple silk satin with gold embroidered flowers. the open back of the skirt on the right has been pulled across to the left and pinned in the front. pink interior is a stiff silk gauze. draped around neck of doll by red stiff silk gauze is a small, waisted drum, similar to the Japanese tsuzumi. interior hour glass shape is red and made of wood. this is sandwiched by two white circles of hide-like material. B: four little metal charms with cloisonne decoration. all are tied together by knotted faded green silk cord with tassles.
