Description
KOREAN CLOTH DOLL Doll on stand wearing traditional Korean dress(Hanbok). stiff black hair pulled to the sides into two braids which are looped up and tied with stiff, red silk gauze bows with gold polka-dots. hair cut into bangs in front. molded face covered by cream silk, same material covers little curved hands and legs. face has painted features. body stuffed and attached to black lacquered wooden base. silk damask jacket (chokori) is cream in color. stiff red and white collar meets with red sash. sash is red silk satin with print of gold flowers. panel of striped silk satin placed in the middle front of chokori. Sleeves are striped in different colors overlaid by a pattern of orange flowers. the purple stripe near the hands is printed with a band of gold flowers. silk red skirt with woven in flower pattern and Chinese double luck character. Around base of skirt is same gold flower print as on hair bow sash, and sleeves. legs are positioned so that only one touches the base and the other is bent up as if she is skipping. feet covered by orange silk shoes little silk panel decorates top of shoe. orange tie wraps around ankle and attaches to shoe. dolls hands hold braided green silk jump rope twisted around wire. It arches up above her head. yellow silk underskirt with woven diamond pattern. wire strung through base of underskirt.
