Abacus - Artifacts

Description
Abacus The abacus has a wood frame and a wood back with a split in it; corners reinforced with brass strips and brass nails. Inside the frame the space is divided into two compartments by a strip of wood. 11 pieces of bamboo lie vertically through the two compartments and each piece hold seven reddish colored round wooden beads. 2 beads on each strip are above the divider and five below. (The round shape and number of beads designate this abacus as Chinese). One compartment is chipped.
