Lion Head - Kaga - Shishi - Gashira Carved wooden Lion Head with detached ear. The head is carved in three pieces with the upper piece unfinished wood, carved eyebrows, slanting eyes, wide nose, upper jaw with blunt teeth and two fangs. Painted gold and black eyes and gold fangs. Carved lower jaw has flattened terth and carved tougne painted orange and is attached to the hollowed upper head with a thin wood dowel. A carved wood horn painted gold is pegged through a hole in the top of the head. Carved wood right ear is painted orange on the inside and attached to the head with a black string.
