Toy - Artifacts

Description
Pulled Wheeled wooden toy Kiji - Guruma Pheasant Car. Carved wood in an oblong shape with an angular head and a peaked tail. Front body is painted red with black and white eyes on either side. Black Japanese character on the top and cresent shaped groove behind it, At the front is angular shaped beak painted yellow.In the middle are two triangles outlined in white. The middle back has a red half flower with a yellow and green middle and four green leaves. The tail is yellow with red chevron shapes. The wheels are made of wooden disks with bark on them. The two wheels are joined by a wooden dowel and bamboo tube extendeing through two holes in the bottom of the body. A hole isdrilled through the front of the toy and has a green paper ribbon tied through it. On the bottom written in English:" Whaling Boat, Hitoyoashi, Kumomoto - ken, Gift from Sachiko Yuchiyama, 1980"
