Description
None of the edges are hemmed. The design is in a wax-resist method. The sky and background are gray dyed on white cotton. Most of the cloth is dominated with a design of traditional homes fenced in by rock and KAWARA (baked tile) walls. The scene represents five buildings plus a tall narrow tower-looking structure. The wall is in black and white. Roofs are outlined in black grey and blue-gray. The homes are traditional style with roofs made of KAYA (thatch) and/or KAWARA. A pine tree with black trunk and white shapes representing greenery looms to the right and cedar or pine trees in blue sway to the left. A white convex crescent of a moon is represented to left-top portion of the scene. A signature of artist is at bottom right.
