Basketry Vases - Artifacts

Description
Set of three basketry vase in the shape of gourds on driftwood bases with inserts. Ai. Basketry vase made of random weave bamboo, shaped like a gourd with the lower portion horizontal and the upper part vertical. Hollow with a hole in the center of the lower "gourd". Driftwood base made of four seperate pieces is nailed together and tied to the basket with bamboo strips. Basket and base are stained dark brown. On the bottom of the wood base the donor's name "Uno" is punched in white letters into a black tape. H: 15.5"; L; 16.5"; D: 8.5". Aii. Steel alloy can insert is filled with rocks acting as a weight and has a smaller can attached to the insert. Painted tan on the exterior and and interior small can. Painted around inner rim. Some rust spots on the bottom. H: 4.75"; C: 4". Aiii. Container kenzan; needle point flower holder inside heavy metal container with flared sides, painted black. On the bottom the donor's name, "Uno", is scratched into the metal. H: 1.5"; C: 3.75". Bi. Medium sized basketry vase made of random weave bamboo, shaped like a gourd with the lower portion horizontal and the upper part vertical. Hollow with a hole in the center of the lower "gourd". Driftwood base made of eleven seperate pieces is nailed together and tied to the basket with bamboo strips. Basket and base are stained dark brown. On the bottom of the wood base the donor's name "Uno" is punched in white letters into a black tape. H: 11.25"; L: 12"; D: 5.5". Bii. Galvanized metal insert, cone-shaped with a flat bottom and flared lip. Upper half painted black and middle band painted a rust color. Small needle pointed flower holder kenzan stuck to inside. H: 3.5"; Di: 2.25". Ci. Bi. Small sized basketry vase made of random weave bamboo, shaped like a gourd with the lower portion horizontal and the upper part vertical. Hollow with a hole in the center of the lower "gourd". Driftwood base made of thirteen seperate pieces is nailed together and tied to the basket with bamboo strips. Basket and base are stained dark brown. On the bottom of the wood base the donor's name "Uno" is punched in white letters into a black tape. There appears to be some water damage on upper part of basket. H: 9.5"; L: 10.5"; D: 5". Cii. Galvanized metal insert, cone-shaped with a flat bottom and flared lip. Glossy dark brown paint on exterior and interior has been partly scraped. Small needle pointed, plastic based, flower holder kenzan stuck to inside. H: 2.75"; Di: 1.75".
