Painting - Artifacts

Description
Two Paintings on mirrors with frames. A: Painting on the back of glass with mirror coating incorporated as accents in the painting and around the outside border. Features elderly man on horseback. He wears white robe and pale green mantle with a hood. He has a white face and silver beard. The black horse has long ears and yellow bridle. Behind them is a man walking with arms uplifted as if pushing the figure on the horse. He has white face, black hair, mustard colored tunic over a white robe and carries a gourd on his back shoulder. The ground and hill to the left of the painting is colored in shades of green and yellow with silver accents. A white body of water lies ahead of them toward the back of the painting. Above them in the mirrored section is the outline of a tree and four Chinese characters. The border around the painting is mirrored. There is a brown stained carved wooden frame with mitered corners. Mirrored painting is held with a slated wood back that has two bands of wood nailed onto the backing and the frame. A piece of deteriorated paper glued to the back of the painting is printed in red and indicates the painting came from Hong Kong. The donor has written on the back in black felt pen: "Raymond Lew, 4205 - 90th Ave. SE, Mercer Island, WA. 98040 232-5974" Below this are three Chinese characters. In one corner is written "circa 1920 11/74". A heavy braided wire extends between two large screw eyes. Condition: Part of the mirrored painting is scrapped off on the right hand side. Painitng features two Chinese men playing Game of go (wei chi) on top of a rock. Man on the left faces the viewer and wears an orange robe. The man on the right faces away from the viewer and wears a blue robe on top over a whtie robe and his lower back is covered with a red garment. Both men have white faces, black hair and beards and a blue head gear. Between them is game board with squares indicated in mirrored silver. Two orange and silver game pieces sit on ends of the board. The top of the rock is white and the ground below and the hill on the right side of the painting are painted in green, yellow and white. There are silvery mirror accents in landscape and the outline of a tree appers on the mirrored section on th e left. Below this is a poem in Chinese charactes.
