Textile Sample - Artifacts

Description
Textile Sample of Kanoko Shibori Technique Light mint green damask silk with a woven-in hemp leaf design which appears like interlocking stars; the center section and an inch or so at one end is a shibori (tye-dye) design of a series of chevrons creating a woven bamboo fence design; white cotton thread is wrapped around a very tiny piece of silk in a pattern to resist the dye. The next step in the process of creating kanoko (deer spot) shibori is to overdye the silk and unwind all the thread. The result would be a bumby mint green pattern of chevrons surrounded by a darker colour.
