Paj ntaub - a phrase that means "flower cloth" and is pronounced "pandoa" dates back 2000 years. It encompasses embroidery and applique, often featuring geometric designs and sometimes depicting animals or other creatures. Story cloths began as an effort to tell traditional stories using pictures and then evolved into a textile form based on the earlier Paj ntaub form.
