Lavender silk brocade pillbox hat with Chinese letter in gilt thread, rosettes, mirrors, pompoms, and tassels. Lavender silk brocade on top pleated in toward center. Also pleated around small hole in center is bluegreen brocade circle with lavender, black, white, and light green embroidery. Around side of hat is a wide band of maroon satin with narrow binding of yellow and pink at top and blue at bottom. On maroon band is Chinese letter of gilt thread outlined in red thread in the center. On each side are 5 small mirrors encased in brass. At each side is a rosettes of blue, pink, and green silk. Below rosettes, dangling by a red thread, is a mirror in brass, inset with design of gilt thread looped around it from which hangs a green and pink tassel of fine silk thread. Bottom band of hat is black silk satin. Above wide band are 3 round mirrors and 2 hexagonal mirrors. In center is pink pompom on wire and 2 smaller yellow pompoms on each side.
