Summary
Cloth covered fold out book of a Buddhist Sutra, # 70 in a series. Front and back are covered with faded green (?) cloth. On the front cover is a strip of tan cloth, H: 8.375", outlined in black with eleven Chinese characters written vertically down the front of it. The pages fold out accordian style and are printed in black ink. Written on the back cover in black is: "A - 39" Written on the inside of the front cover is: "Taken from the archives of the old Buddhist temple of Cha-yung Ahr near Peking which was purchased by the Presbyterian missionaries for a summer sanitarium about 1875" There is an illustration of a buddhist figure at the end of the text. The front cover and front page have become separated from the rest of the text. The front cover and first page have become separated form the rest of the text.The cloth on the covers is worn, faded and completely worn from the edges of the covers. There is some insect damage to the back.
