Summary
Calligraphy of Zhang Zhi Dong. The title Xiang Gong was bestowed posthumously. Zhang was an eminent official in the latter Qing Dynasty. He was the governor of Hubei and Hunan and was instrumental in bringing western technology to build up China, including building the railway from Beijing to Hankow and then to Canton and using the coal from Ping xian in Jiang xi province and the iron from a mine in Hubei.
