Tells the story of Hazel Ying Lee, a Chinese-American who grew up in Portland, Oregon where she learned to fly. She later became a member of the WASPs, a group of over 1,000 pilots who became the first women to fly for the U.S. military and were used to ferry new airplanes from factories where they were built to points of embarkation around the country. Hazel was one of an elite group trained to fly pursuit aircraft and was often subjected to discrimination common at the time despite her patriotism and the kindness she showed everyone she met.
