This book traces the history of Wang Anshi (1021-1086), a scholar, poet, and reformer in China. An earlier version was published in 1953. This edition contains a postscript written in 1974 by the author locating the book and Wang Anshi in the political and ideological struggles in China in the 1970s. This is the first edition of this version.
