Black and white glossy view from above of a dinner function attended by the mayor The photographer has tried to capture the bulk of attendees to the event. Approximately 15 tables, each seating eight to ten people, fill the banquet hall. At the back is the head table, where the mayor and his wife (see 1994.39.2) are seated. The gathering is attended by a mix of people from various ethnic backgrounds. A man (of Chinese descent?) stands at the microphone. Three waiters stand near the back at a door. This photo was taken before the dinner was served. Pots of tea and empty Chinese soup bowls are on the dinner tables. Printed in the white border around the photographs is a circle logo with a photographer and camera silhouette and "Photo by Elmer Ogawa". Judging from the narrow width of the men's ties and the cat-eye eyeglasses worn by the mayor's wife, this photo must have been taken sometime in the 1960's.
