Description
Photograph album with navy cotton damask cover with attached embroidery rectangle of chrysanthemums and hill pattern with border of greek key design on back and front. Pages are tied with black cord and album fastens with tab and snap. Inside pages are heavy black pattern with interleaf of yellow tissue. First and last interleaf are patterned green tissue with pink, yellow and purple sunbursts made by folding paper. Inside covers of album are gold silk damask with circular dragon pattern. Stuck inside is a loose photograph cut from a magazine labeled: For thousands of years, Chinese trackers have muscled boats up the Yangtze. On the reverse side is a handwritten label: Compare with my photos of 1931 - "not a pair of pants on the river". 95 pages of photographs of a trip to China
