Description
Black photograph album, back cover has a black silk cover with a woven circular design 7 5/8" in diameter in the center including the character for longevity. It has three holes laced with black woven cord to bind the pages. Mounted on the front cover is a 9 x 11 1/2" woven silk satin fabric with a light gray background and navy blue representations of a dragon, bats, the sea, etc., with a floral border on three sides. It is framed by a navy silk tape 1 1/8" wide with narrow grey borders. Inside the front cover is a rust colored fabric with woven patterns of clouds and stylized calligraphy. At the left is a 12 3/4" x 4 1/2" painting on fabric of a seated figure at a table, a standing figure at his left, on the other side of the table is a kneeling figure and two standing figures holding bamboo staves. Inside the back cover is a yellow fabric with woven cloud patterns and vertical rows of stylized calligraphy. At the right is a 12 3/4" x 4 3/8" painting of four standing figures in front of a table on which there are several ceramic objects. They ar examining a small bowl. One individual rests his left foot on a type of crutch. There is a white patterned paper divider inside the cover. The first album text has a 6 x 8 3/4" colored picture of a mongol seated cross legged on a low bench or throne. Next page is blank. 91 pages of black and white photographs of trip through China.
