Weaving Heritage: Textile Masterpieces from the Burke Collection at Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture

In the first major exhibition of the Burke Museum’s international textile collection, “Weaving Heritage” features over 100 textile masterpieces from the Americas, Asia, and the Pacific Islands accompanied by a series of artist demonstrations and educational programs. Visitors will learn about the significance of these textiles as symbols of cultural heritage and identity, the role of weavers within their communities, and the endangered nature of traditional weaving arts as well as efforts to maintain them.
