Chinese Opera Lyrics
The lyrics depict the tragic ending of a famous Chiense love story "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai" Liang Shanbo fell sick and died after he learned that Yingtai was arranged to marry into another family. On the day of her wedding Yingtai visited Liang's grave to offer sacrifices and mourn over her lover's death. According to legend the grave opened upon hearing her wailing and she jumped in to join her lover.
