Description
Early Showa Period (1626-1989) Meisen silk kosode kimono of ikat abstract design. Mondrian type pattern in light blue, pink, red, light grey, dark pea green with black outlines. Upper lining is white silk, lower lining is pink cotton. Sleeve lining is white silk with pink cotton bandings. Meisen: reeled silk, comparatively rough and strong. Kosode: short sleeved kimono DAMAGE: dirty along bottom, yellow spots on right bottom and on lining. Near collar on inside on right sleeve, dirt on sleeve linings
