Doll - Artifacts

Description
Doll representing Emperor Jimmu A: Separate head molded from wood paste and dipped in gofun with tinted cheeks; painted black eyebrows and lashes; inset glass eyes. Synthetic black fiber hair parted in middle and pulled to the sides with a bun over ears which is tied in the center with hair which then flows out; long black divided beard. B: Body of figure standing with right foot slightly forward, right arm out, left arm bent holding baton (C). Clothing: Robe of silk and paper brocade in a yellow and brown floral pattern with only the long, full sleeves showing and tied at the wrist with beige silk cord. Three brown plastic armour plates with brown flat cord woven in and tied at the bottom are attached at the shoulder with simulated leather strip tied with yellow cord. Armour breast plate of strips of plastic laced with flat brown cord. Back plate is plain with metal boss in center with ring. There are two metal bosses with rings on the front of armour vest. Wide flat cord of purple, green and white tied around waist with knot in center, ends hang down with tassels at the end. Hakama (pants) are bright blue floral pattern brocade, gathered into brown painted wooden boots. Five double panels of brown plastic armour laced with brown flat cord hang down from waist. Underneath armour in the front is an apron of purple and orange brocade with fur attached to bottom, and extending to bottom of pants. Sword in scabbard; L: 6.5", Black and gold painted wood in one piece tied to doll with white cord. Arrows in holder: L: 5 5/8", Arrow holder on back of doll is thin wood or paper mache painted black. Five arrows are attached. Black painted wood with orange thread bands and gold painted band with white feathers. C: Baton: L:4 5/8", painted black wood with handle of grainy gray material. D: Necklace: L: 5/8" , Two glass beads and one long glass bead is pattern. Front has long metal medallion of flower shaped with large round glass beads across front and making loop at front. Five comma shaped yellow beads are also in necklace. Three at the front and one at each side where large round beads begin. A modern doll which does not have the fierceness or individual character of older ones, but is in very good condition
