1999.028.008 Book, Receipt Paper cover receipt book. Faded aqua color card stock cover bound at the top with staples and black cloth tape. The back cover is plain card board. The book opens from the bottom to the top, lengthwise. Inside are pink paper pages perforated at mid-point. The pages are printed with black Chinese characters. Identical characters are on both partitions, but the bottom one has a black outline and a floral line underneath the name of the association. the top has only a straight line under the association name. There is the associaton name: "America, Seattle, Mar Family Association" then the date.

Music notes and lines circle around them. Below this is a blossom shaped area with Chinese characters. At the top are dark blue characters with white background and below this are white characters. In a small white rectangle are the characters noting the volume number. The back is plain white. A: is light blue with purple blossom area. B: is green with an orange blossom area. C: is grey with an orange blossom area. D: is light purple with an orange blossom area.

On the backof each is a listing of other performers and songs in the series. There is a Columbia Records logo circle coupled with a round seal on the front of each. The interior printing is dark brown. A - D: Printed in orange ink. E: Printed in dark blue. A:The front cover has photographs of two women, one in the upper right and one below this and to the left. The title is in the upper left: Yin Deng - Yu Reng (Silver Light shines on Beauty) Sung by Chiang Wei Fang and Chong Hsien. B: the front cover had two photographs of a man and a woman. The top is in the shape of a star and shows a man in suit and tie singing into a microphone. Below this and to the left is a rectangular photo of a woman in a hat. There is an illustration of trees along the bottom. The title is in Chinese and translates as: "Blooming Flowers, Full Moon" and is sung by Tan Bo Ye and Wei Xiao feng. Song composed by Jiu Shu. Serial number is "No. 49855 A-D" C: The front cover has photographs of a man and a woman. The top photo of the man is star shaped and he is in a suit and tie standing in front of a microphone. Below and to the left of this is a heart shaped photo with a Chinese woman. Below this and to the right is an illustration of trees. The title is along the upper right side: "Fine wife. Good Mother" and is sung by Tan Bo Ye, shing Yue er and Ben Yue. Composed by Hu Wen Sen. D: On the front are the photographs of a man and a woman. At the top is a rectangular photo of a man. Below and to the left is a rectangular photo of a woman. The title is in the upper left corner: "Big Dummy Buys a Pig" ? Vol. II, sung by He Da xia and Huang Pei yin. The serial number is: "No. 49858 A - D" E: Two photographs on the front cover. The index is on the inside of the front cover and on the first page. The front cover had three vertical lines of Chinese characters. There is a rectangular purple stamp on the lower left side. In the upper left corner is a small white sticker with: "CHINESE MISICAL CLUB, SEATTLE 1940 DUNKLEE 2/24/89". The back cover has a small center design on it. On the inside of the back cover is a map of Shanghai. On the last page at the bottom is: "CHINESE MUSICAL CLUB 506 MAYNARD AVE SO SEATTLE WASH U.S.A." The address is crossed out and "703 1/2 King St." is written below it. The front cover has become separated from the text.
1999.029.004 Magazine Slick White paper cover magazine The title and text are in English. The upper third of the front cover is orange with black outlined white letters for the title. The date is in black in the upper right and the number of the magazine is in the lower left corner of the orange title area. Below this is a black and white photograph of a man polling in a small sail boat with Mt. Fuji in the background. There is a band of orange below this with the name of the publisher in black. On the back cover is an advertisement for Asahi, Sapporo and Union beer. There is a black and white photo of a Japanese woman with a tray and two beer glasses. The text pages are newsprint. The spine is torn at the top and the bottom. There are some patches on the cover where the first layer of the paper has been torn off.

Top of the card is in Chinese, the bottom in English. The dates are written in in red ink. Date of the event is February 28, 1999 at 6:00 PM at the Sun Ya Restaurant. B: Flyer, H: 3.75", W: 8.5", pink paper slip with black printing. The top of the flyer is in Chinese with arabic numerals and the bottom is in English. The flyer tells how and where to purchase tickets and the price of the ticket. C: Envelope, white paper, H: 4.125", W: 9.5", with a red stamped return address in the upper left hand corner. The top line is in Chinese and then: "Lung Kong Tin Yee Association 709 1/2 So. King Street Seattle, Washington 98104" The mailing label on the front is: "Ron Chew & Loan Nguyen, 1511 14th Ave. S #303 Seattle, WA 98144. It has been ripped open at the top and there are pencil notes on the back.

Inside is the program events list in English on the left side and in Chinese on the right side. On the back is a list of sponsors.

The top one is of a street scene; the second is of a group of men dining with Gary Locke and his father in China; the third is of a group of men standing in front of a temple. The letter is dated October 12, 1998 and is asking for the Fu Shi school overseas alumni to donate money to the school.
